#SkillsForLife

Luton is home to over 1,400 Scouts – a family of girls and boys who, from the age of six, enjoy life changing adventure every week.

Welcome to Falkes (Luton) Scouts

In Luton, Scouting was born in 1908 in a lady’s bedroom in Clarendon Road near the Hat Factory with a patrol of 15 lads. Today we have nearly a thousand co-ed youth members led by around 450 adult volunteers in 18 groups and six Explorer/Young Leader Units. By 2025 we want to add another 500 to that number and attract enough volunteers to help us do this. It’s a tall order but it can be done and in the process it will help to transform lives and provide skills for life.

When they made the Scout Promise on a cold weekday night, they were not just joining a youth club, they were choosing a code which many would follow throughout their lives. They were making a choice to live a meaningful life, full of fun, adventure and friendship and to put others before themselves. These are our Skills for Life.

If you would like to be part of this extraordinary team, fill in the form on our Contact page. You can tell us what you think and offer us new ideas for this vibrant web site. Also see About Us for more about the amazing world of Scouting and our part in it. Happy hunting!

Adult volunteers

The Scouts award-winning training scheme for volunteers means that adults get as much from Scouts as young people.
