Beaver Scouts Whipsnade Animal Instincts Visit
When a tad over 100 Beaver Scouts and Young Leaders, with the support of 30 adult leaders and parent helpers met at ZSL for the Falkes District Beaver outing, the weather was cloudy and windy with the threat of rain in the air.
All 8 colonies attended and once in the zoo they went their separate way to explore the grounds and see the different animals from around the world, from Antelopes to Zebra.
At lunch time it was the tradition pack-lunch all round and the weather started to show some improvement. Even after ice-cream some of the Scouts still had some excess energy so ran it off in the park.
There was even an investiture carried out at the penguins by one for the colonies.
Everyone had a great time at the zoo and got to see loads of different and sometimes exotic animals
As the young Scouts view Lions, Lemurs, Rhino, Snakes, Birds, Butterflies, they will not see at home, these boys and girls learn about the conservation work with the three main Zoo priorities:
• Inspire future generations.
• Inform the world.
• Empower communities
Scouting is about gaining badges such as animal friends, with new experiences whilst having fun and making friends.
