Five top Scouts make Icknield District proud

Five Scouts from Icknield District have gained their Chief Scout Gold awards in a proud moment for their leaders, reports Cub Scout Leader Vicky Neale.

We just want to say a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to five Scouts from St Augustine’s who all achieved their Chief Scouts Gold Award presented to them at the Group HQ on Friday 8th February. We cannot believe they have all left the Scout Group and are going off to do other things including Fire Cadets and Explorers. It’s a proud moment for us all.

To earn this top award in Scouting is no easy task. They had to complete nine trials including: a world challenge, a skills challenge, a creative challenge, an outdoors challenge an adventure challenge, an expedition, a team work and team leader challenge and a personal challenge. Added to that were six activity badges making a total of 15 skills for life. What an achievement.

They now move on to pastures new and yet more challenges. Well done to all five!
