Icknield District Scouts Board Games 2017
Nearly 50 Cub and Beaver Scouts tried their best during an afternoon of fun and friends as they contested Icknield District Scout`s board games competition, reports Mark
The event this year was held at the Sells Seventh HQ in Birdsfoot Lane. The Beavers played dominos and connect four whilst the Cubs battled with each other over chess and battleships. The format saw each member playing against all others in their chosen game.
As usual all the games were hotly contested with only a couple of points separating the winners and runners up. Both Beaver games were won by Sundon with the Blenheim Colony being victorious overall. It was a different story in the Cub section with Sundon still winning out in the Battleships and St. Augustine`s triumphant at chess giving St. Augustine`s the Cub overall victory.
The afternoon was organised by District Cub Scout Leader Adam Mitchel who thanked all the adults without who`s help the competition could not have happened. Forty adult volunteers from the District representing eight groups gave up their Saturday afternoon to help.
The trophies were presented by the District Commissioner Mr. Martin Wesley who congratulated all the young people present for their sense of fair play and commented on the enthusiasm that all had shown during the afternoon.
