St George’s Day National Parade of Queen Scouts 2019
Falkes District along with others from Bedfordshire and from across the UK arrived at Windsor Castle. The Falkes District proudly had one Queen Scout on the St George’s Day.
Georgina Barrett, which was in the presences of His Royal Highness Prince Edward, Duke of Kent, with many guests.
As the Queen Scouts were inspected, Georgina Barrett chatted with the Chief Scout Bear Grylls and Tim Kidd, the UK Chief Commissioner.
Adults may attend, following invitation following being awarded an Acorn, a Bar to the Acorn and a Sliver Wolf. Acorn holders Alan Burnham, Adrian Kedge, Denise O’Hara, Rita and David Tims, Michael Waller, Mark Webb and Bar to Acorn holder Gerald Law plus guests attended.
The program of events including Mattins and Sermon, The First Sunday After Easter in St. George’s Chapel, Queen’s Scout Review and Parade in the Quadrangle and finally the National Scout Service back in the St. George’s Chapel.
As Mark Webb (DC of Falkes) remarked “It was fantastic to see a member of Falkes District Network Scouts take part in such a wonderful celebration of her Scouting achievements in the iconic surroundings of Windsor Castle and St. George’s chapel. Georgina is Falkes District’s first Queen Scouts Award achiever and I wish to encourage all young members to take up the challenge of the Award in the future”.
