New CC for Bedfordshire

Date: 28th Feb 2018 Author: Gerald Law
Regional Commissioners Graham Woolley and Matt Mills are delighted to announce that they have appointed Martin Wesley as County Commissioner for Bedfordshire Scouts.

Martin may be well known to you already having been Icknield District Commissioner in the County for many years. He brings with him a wealth of experience not only from his extensive experience as a DC, but from many other roles in Scouting including as a Deputy County Commissioner.

Professionally, Martin was a chemisty teacher and head of science for several years but left teaching in 2000 to set up an education consultancy. He now travels the country to deliver science sessions in schools, colleges and universities to inspire young people and train non-specialist teachers in how to teach science.

Martin will formally take over on Monday, 26th February 2018.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank Bob Calver for his leadership and impact in the role of County Commissioner over the last few years. Bob has been a huge asset to Bedfordshire and to the wider Regional Team and we will miss his contribution tremendously. We wish Bob all the best for the future as he takes on his next Scouting challenge.

Put your phone down and what are you left with? Just teamwork, courage and the skills to succeed.’
